Passionate Producer for the
Animal and Climate Emergency
Katie is currently working on a multiplatform documentary / entertainment programme with the charity Nature’s SAFE to raise awareness and hopefully help change the alarming rate of animal extinction.
“More than 35,500 species are at risk of extinction. Human activity is causing the sixth mass extinction, the largest predicted loss of biodiversity in 65 million years. It is estimated that 1 million animal and plant species are at risk of extinction, with many predicted to be lost within decades. This catastrophic loss threatens the entire natural balance of our planet, and with it, the very survival of our own species. We no longer have the luxury of time – it will soon be too late to change direction”.
Confident and Calm Live Compere
Confident and Calm Live Compere
Katie was asked by Rankin, the iconic photographer, publisher and film director, to host the first ever RANKINLIVE INTERVIEWS at The Hospital Club.
She interviewed Rankin and their special guest, actor/ filmmaker Aki Omoshaybi. They chatted all things: photography, “Setiquette,” actors’ headshots, creativity, British cinema, changing the world, cutting through the noise, idols, preparation, client/ agency relationships, the difficult and rewarding parts of the job, biggest mistakes, recovery, social media and being star struck…all whilst they did a shoot in front of a live audience. Part masterclass, part interview, part shoot, Rankin and Katie were booked for a series of shows….until lockdown. A show for the future!
Katie even did a shoot with Rankin herself!
Friendly Arts Interviewer
Katie interviewed Rankin for the headline set at The Future of Brands conference in London. They talked about THE POWER OF CREATIVITY DRIVING BRAND GROWTH.
Katie Reddin-Clancy sat down with Rankin to discuss: why creativity should not be forgotten in a world often dominated by data and measurement. How brand growth continues to benefit from creative ideas and what Rankin and his team have already learned from working with clients such as Samsonite, Rolls Royce and Unilever.
A fascinating conversation ranging from what Rankin thinks is the future for brands, the bubble of influencers, how he’s shocked people still need help bringing diversity and inclusion to their work, taking the Queen’s photo, tech addiction to the next big things in communications.
Professional Corporate Presenter
Katie presented virals for Sony and Malmaison Hotels.
Live shows for Canon and KDDI.
…and a ‘How To Train Your Dog’ DVD which was amazing as she got to train a dog herself!
Topical Producer for Magazine Photographic Projects
Katie pitched a project about people born intersex to cultural provocateur Rankin… and he said yes.
Ela Xora and Katie wanted to create a project to raise awareness and celebrate intersex people who are born with variations in their sex characteristics.
They are currently masked by our cultural male / female binary, yet make up just under 2% of the population – roughly the same amount of people naturally born twins. However, intersex people are currently fighting legal invisibility, stigma, discrimination, hate crimes and sometimes non consenting genital mutilation as children.
They curated a shoot with the intersex community and change-making intersex activists. A huge thank you to: Dawn, Jeanette, Valentino, Abi Jay, Adeleh, Grace, Marianne-Rose and Tomas for being part of it.
Katie chose this photo in memory of Abi Jay. Abi was an intersex activist who was fully reproductive as a male and female. She identified as a woman – after a life as a Jewish man, husband and father of two sons. Katie shared Abi’s story in her Blog.
Full shoot and Hunger article here: https://www.hungertv.com/editorial/the-infinite-faces-of-intersexuality/
Rankin and Hunger magazine also did a solo shoot with intersex filmmaker and actor River Gallo.
Hunger interviewed River about their short film PONYBOI which gained real momentum in the film festivals and has the support of executive producers Stephen Fry and Emma Thompson.
Resourceful Theatre Producer
Katie has produced two critically acclaimed theatre shows:
GRACE (2018) was shortlisted for BEST NEW PLAY at Brighton Fringe.
It was a character comedy, cabaret, stand up and theatre piece which toured: Tuxedo Cat (Adelaide Fringe Festival), The Butterfly Club (Melbourne International Comedy Festival), The Theatre Box / The Warren (Brighton Fringe Festival) and The Gilded Balloon (Edinburgh Fringe Festival). In an old regional theatre, Alfie, a comedian who performed as the male half of a double act re-enters the stage… as Zora, a woman. Sponsored by Isobel advertising agency and Encore insurance.
KATE MIDDLETON SHOW QUEEN (2013) was Katie’s debut one person show.
It opened at La Boheme, a 55 seater (Adelaide Fringe Festival) at the time of the Royal Wedding. We then transferred to Red Bennies a 300 seater (Melbourne International Comedy Festival). It was a one-woman character, comedy show with stand up about Kate Middleton’s lookalike being hired by the Palace to cover Kate on Maternity Leave. Sponsored by Bank SA, Bouffant Delacroix salon, Ms Caramel Cakes, M.C Lange Solicitors and Gritti Palace Hairdresser.
Entertaining Music Broadcaster
Katie loved producing and co-presenting the radio show, THE MENU SESSIONS with Atomic Hooligan and Jay Cunning on Breaks FM and Ministry of Sound before they podcast…before it was a thing!
Although it wasn’t an official “comedy”… it was! Tons of fun to do with pranks and banter at all times. The show came second internationally as ‘Best Radio Show for Breakbeat’ in Breakspoll 2006 receiving 130,000 downloads that month. Pipped to the post by the legendary Annie Nightingale and Radio 1.The Menu label and artists all won prestigious awards.
Photo 19 Katie was then asked to be the backstage reporter for the dance music village at Glastonbury for GFM Glastonbury Radio…which she did.
Versatile Television and Online Journalist
Katie reported from many a music festival and interviewed a plethora of
incredible dance music DJs and producers for production companies.
She also won a pitch and took a team to run a TV station inside a holiday park at TRIBAL GATHERING THE WEEKENDER. She interviewed DJs and broadcast them with their mixes. So that happened…It was a weekend she’ll never forget!
